Draft — not yet in force
Terms of Service
These terms are a draft and do not yet describe a live service. They exist so this page says something true about where Podcontext is going rather than nothing at all.
What Podcontext is
Podcontext is a podcast intelligence platform. It indexes podcast transcripts so that a brand, an agency or a marketer can find what has been said about them, when it was said, and by whom.
It is a tool for reading what is already published. It does not publish anything on anyone's behalf, and it does not place advertising.
Accounts
An account is for one person or one organisation. You are responsible for what happens under it, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
- Do not share an account, and do not resell access to one.
- Tell us if you think somebody else is using your account.
- We can suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service or to break the law.
What we provide, and what we do not
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise that a transcript is complete, that every episode has one, that a search finds every mention, or that the service is uninterrupted.
Transcripts come from podcast publishers and are converted automatically. They contain mistakes. Do not rely on one as the record of what was said.
Acceptable use
Monitoring what is said about you is the point. Monitoring a specific person and publishing what they said is not, and we will not help with it.
- Do not use the service to harass, stalk or threaten anyone.
- Do not attempt to break into, overload or probe the service beyond what your plan allows.
- Do not resell the transcripts as a dataset.
Your content
You keep everything you upload to the service. You give us only the permission needed to store it, index it and show it back to you and to the people you share it with.
Ending it
You can close your account at any time. We may close an account that breaches these terms, and where the law requires it we will tell you why.
Closing an account stops access. It does not, by itself, delete what we already hold — see the Privacy Policy for what happens to it and how long it is kept.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Podcontext is not liable for decisions made on the basis of what the service shows you, or for anything you lose because a transcript was wrong or a search missed something.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page says when this version was last changed.
